When I first went to college, I didn’t go to church. I had lots of excuses, but the truth is I simply never got around to it.
One day I discovered a major hole in my life - I had virtually no relationship with God. It wasn’t because God had turned His back on me; rather, it was because I had turned my back on God.
The following Sunday I attended the worship service at the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod (LCMS) campus ministry that served the university I attended.
It was wonderful to be with college students who were there because they wanted to go to church and not because someone made them go there. It was even more wonderful to hear of God's unconditional and unending love for me.
To say that it had a positive impact on me would be an understatement. Attending that campus ministry was one of the most significant steps that eventually led to me serving as the campus pastor at Calvary Lutheran Chapel, the LCMS campus ministry serving the University of Wisconsin (UW).
It truly is my honor and privilege to take the love of God that was given to me as a college student and share it with UW students and others in this university community.
In fact, it would be my honor and privilege to share God's love with you this Sunday. Please join us at Calvary.
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Greg
